SAICSIT 2013 is the annual research conference of the South African national computing society of the same name (www.saicsit.org.za). It presents researchers with a forum for presenting research in computer science, information systems, information technology, software engineering and computer engineering (as defined in the ACM, AIS and IEEE-CS).
The Organising Committee has chosen the important theme of “A Connected Society”, not only because of its relevance in today’s modern, highly linked, technological world, but also because of its important impact on society, from the resource-rich few to the resource-poor majority. Social networking, mobile technologies, the ubiquitous Internet, Cloud computing and wireless and wired superhighways, to mention a few, all contribute to our highly connected society.
You are invited to the Eastern Cape to join us on the Sunshine coast to participate in and, more importantly, contribute to this valuable research forum. This year the conference will be held in East London at the beautifully sited Blue Lagoon Hotel located at the Nahoon River mouth. The hotel has direct access to the beach so if you are an early riser, a brisk stroll on the beach will be a good way to start the day! To add to the experience, the hotel has modern comfortable rooms and relaxed conference venues.
The Departments of Computer Science and Information Systems at Rhodes University are busy preparing for your arrival … we look forward to seeing you in our beautiful, stress-free province.
